We are going to start an online study of 1 Thessalonians and I want to first strat by talking about the author, the occasion, the audience, the reasons for writing, and how it applies to us today. Then we will start an expository study of this letter to the Church in Thessalonica.
Before I start, I want to know that everyone has access to the study and have figured out how to leave comments. So let us make that Lesson 1.
Also, pray for Mom, as she hurt her arm moving something and will be going to Dr. tomorrow!

Sorry! Been Gone Awhile!
Life has been busy! With Church, family, work, sometimes I dont know where I am headed next. Cheer is done (as far as competitions for awhile) It ended on a high note with Alexis' Team winning at Mytle Beach and then last weekend at The All Levels Championships in Atlanta. Proud of both my girls.
Let me say I have never been excited about The Stables Community Church more than I am now. I believe that God had a big plan to do a God-sized work through this part of the body of Christ, Please pray for us to be obedient to his leading, calling, and direction. I will be back on this blog on a regular basis starting from here on.
I am going to start by going through the books of I and II Thessalonians. So, please keep checking in and share this blog with others ( as many as you can that would be interested)as we break down God's Word to see its TRUE meaning as "we study to show ourselves approved."
May God Bless you and your family and keep you this week! May I encourage you to share the Gospel with someone you know before we meet again here in cyberworld and rejoice over what God can do through HIS willing servants.
I will be praying for you all! I ask you to pray for me and my family as we travel to Memphis this weekend to officate s wedding for a long time friend, Paul Fisher and his bride to be, April! The wedding is on this Saturday the 24th and we will be driving over Friday for the rehersal and coming back on Sunday Morning. So again I ask for prayer for safe travels.
Blessings!

Entry I placed on a Different Blog about GayChristianity101 Blog
I am a born again believer first and foremost. God has since called me to preach His Gospel Message and to sheperd his flock at a new church start.
This topic is near to my as my sister in law is an open and Still practicing lesbian. She has been artificially impregnated twice because her and her partner could never have marital relations that would produce a child as GOD HAD INTENDED. She lived in MD all her life, went to church all her life, but when she found out she like girls she moved to California. I asked her, "Why did you move?" Her answer, "To get away from people who were telling me I was wrong." I asked why she felt she was wrong, her response, "The bible says so!" She informed she would rather entertain the pleasures of the flesh and sacrifice her eternal soul. That was very upsetting to me. Let me pause to say that someone continuing to live in an adulterous affair is no different.
Let me ask you this question, what is you viewpoint on adultery? Is it ok as well?
This is what I believe when it comes to issues in the Bible about these kinds of topics. First if you have to spend over 20 years trying to justify a lifestyle is not a sin according to Gods Word, it is probably a sin. Now, how can I say that, 1 Cor 14:33 says that, "For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints..." God will give you peace about it, if you have to continue to battle with something, you'd better be on your knees before God asking Him to forgive you.
My sister in law's wife has since gotten saved by the blood of Jesus Christ and has left her lesbian lifesyle and says she has never felt better and her eyes were finally opened after attending a Bible teaching church.
I am not saying any of these things in hate uglyness; however, God desires all men to be saved but HE also said that there will be fewer who make to heaven than those who wind up in hell with the devil and his angels.
One must be careful how you read Scripture. It is all good for teaching and reproving. It is God Breathed and inerrant. And according to Hebrews 13:8, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." His views on this lifestyle are that it is wrong. Listen to Pauls comments on giving them over to a reprobate mind. Folks that means God says, "I am through with you." That's scary stuff.
I close with this statement. Homosexual lifestyles are wrong in my eyes and from what I read in God's Word, it is definitely wrong. Howeve, that being said, "God is waiting with open arms when one of His children or a lost person come back to with a repentant heart. We saw that with my sister in law partner just in the last few week after years of prayer, AMEN! Now how can I say this is what God desire, Listen to 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We need to love everyone and the key word in the church today needs to be reconciliation, bringing people back like the 1 lamb who strayed. Jesus was waiting. But friends, the time is coming closer to when He returns and this Age of Grace that we now know will be over and man will once again be held up to the standards of the Law. And reading just a bit of your blog shows how the Law is not in favor of homosexual relationships. I want everyone to goto heaven. Read God's word without YOUR agenda sticking to the forefront and LISTEN to what God is trying to tell you!

The Great Commission or Ommission?
When our Lord Jesus was getting ready to ascend back to His Glory, He left us what we know as "The Great Commission." You can find it in Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16, and Acts 1:8. You see instead of taking us to Heaven directly with Him when we get saved we have a job to do, we have been 'commissioned' if you will to accomplish what He commanded us to do. He tells us in Matthew 28:19-20, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." ESV This is for all born again believers, not just preachers and deacons, staff members or evangelists. If you are a child of God this commission was given to you. Yes, to you. When we see that first word, "GO" in verse 19, it is a word that is translated from the Greek to mean, "as you go, or on the way." Don't think the Great Commission is only done by people traveling round the world or into inner cities. IT can be done as YOU go to the store, work, school, the gym, just about anywhere you go, you can share the Gospel the Lord commissioned us to do. Think about it, pray about, and ask God to reveal to your heart what you should be doing. Blessings!
